happy names

i'm still thinking about the name... i actually think mine looks quite good... me think it looks positive and happy... i hv come up with this little conclusion...

the more vowels in a name, the happier it looks... esp. "a" & "e"... they're really the happy vowels... i think becoz they are the laughing sounds... and "a" is very important... i think it's the happiest vowel... now some examples... candy, clara & jackie are happier than tom, john & christy

then names ending with -xxy, too... perhaps becoz the word happy has an -xxy pattern... e.g. jimmy, danny, benny...

also, girls names look happier than boys... e.g. christine v.s. chris, stephanie v.s. stephen...

now i hv some clues towards naming my children...

wah omg... i spent the night reading the terms and conditions of the HA contract without noticing they addressed the letter to DR. bigbigtail... wah my first time with the title... the whole name actually looks pretty good... thanks to mum for my luvly name... i feel a surge of happiness...

home sweet home

welcome home, bigbigtail... tonight, i find my home big and comfy... my favourite stuff toys have been waiting for me in bed... tonight i'll sleep with them in a comfy air-conditioned room...

there're things about the trip that i must share...

• LUPINO, is one of the restaurants we visited in barcelona as recommended by the honest timeout travel guide... they have raw thinly sliced duck meat, prawns in garlic mayonnaise... which is what "fusion" meant, i think... where fusion in hk equals a rack of lamb in a chinese restaurant, foie gras sushi or a soy sauce dip in a french restaurant... give me a break...
• KRISPY KREME DONUTS, thanks to a friend for treating me this extraordinarily yummy donut... me not really a donut fan... but i think i may become one... i'm still upset about not having time to get a box home... i thought it's a uk company... actually it started off in the states... i wish someone will bring me a box when they come home...
• PICKPOCKET, i met him in a barcelona metro... i was warned and i was actually more careful... probably not careful enough... i was getting into the train when i felt a hand on my bums... when i turned my head i saw an empty hand withdrawing from my bag... i was like staring at him with a blank mind, my hands keeping checking if everything's still in place... apparently yes... and he stared back... seconds later, he disappeared into the platform... thankee i hv all my things with me...
• GAUDI, the trip to barcelona was a pilgrimage to him... i think everyone should visit his park and chapel some time... i'm thinking i may do architecture and work there as a volunteer to finish the chapel for him if i cant get a job with HA...

chilled night

had great fun last night... i had belgium food for dinner then lion king the musical followed by my only nightout in london...

compared to billy elliot, lion king was not as good... i mean they have wonderful props and costumes... it's like the best one can imagine for man to act as animals... but to me, songs are very very important in a musical... and their songs, vocal and castings would need some improvement...

the climax was actually tiger tiger... it's a large and chilled bar & restaurant with 2 storeys (i was told there're 4... but i could only see 2...) it has different bar areas with different themes of decoration and different feels... plus a club... what's more... i met this lawyer magician who happened to be my friends' friend... another graduate of my uni who's also talented in magic... and it's the first time someone do it right in front of me... i hv to agree that magic is sth which can really cheers ppl and impress ppl...

today i went to cambridge... thanks to her majesty who showed me around so that i could enter the famous colleges without paying... and her "royal feast" in her palace... but i was so tired after the visit... think i need a nice shower plus some good sleep tonight...

mr. li everywhere

thanks to mr. li... who is really really generous to give out a billion... though for him, 1bill is like only a leaf of his bigbigtree... understandably people of the uni are very excited, so much so my med sch will be renamed after him...

gave me the impression that the uni is so money-minded... guess the uni has aniticipated this, hence they quoted examples of other med schs renamed after huge sums of donations to explain it's not uncommon... then i noticed mr. li is really really generous... he is giving more into the future of medicine than many americans...

maybe he's really a superman... he's named after so many things already and now even a faculty... i always think the place belongs to him... one way or another... like if u're anti-japanese u now have the options of korean and mainland electronics and european cars... but if u're anti-li... your life is pretty limited...

hello from belgium

currently in brussels... delighted to see this "business centre" in the hotel lobby which provides free access to internet for their guests... think all hotels on this planet should really do it, y not?

last night after dinner, we went to a coffee shop where i ordered a cup of hot chocolate (bearing in mind belgium is famous for chocolate)... right, i was given a cup of hot milk + a dish of chocolate buttons + a small cup of chocolate mousse... the first time i dunno how to drink a cup of chocolate... so this waiter taught me to add the chocolate buttons into the hot milk and then it melts to give a cup of choclate... and the mousse is to eat... um... interesting...

billy elliot the musical

i watched the movie before the musical and i'm not really a fan of the film... the songs are written by elton john so it's kinda quality-assured... and there's no disappointment... i thought i must get the CDs 20 mins after the show started... (unfortunately no CDs are released yet)... i wouldnt say it's a must watch... but if u've already watched the classics and are ready for sth new... this is the one... it's only 6 weeks old in london west end... and it's building its reputation...

a story about a boy who wants to do ballet... pretty straight forward isnt it? but they made it amazingly touching... it's like i knew it's a good show not long after it started... i literally enjoyed every minute...

the other thing is they have the focus on a young boy... and lots of kids on stage... i think that's not easy... to invest into a musical which relies quite heavily on the performance of children... they're not like perfect... but they're good enough... it's a truly enjoyable evening...

update on cooking

i made this grilled chicken thighs with a mixture of things like herbs lemon & ginger... and it turned out superb!! horhorhorhorhor...

doctor, i'm getting married...

hv been busy booking this and that for my side trips...

yesterday, i had diabetes clinic... it's as boring as one can ever imagine... but i must share with u this very gentlemen... it's a 78 yrs old gentlemen with some 8 yrs history of NIDDM... all his bp, sugars and lipids were perfectly controlled... he told his doctor...

"sir... how're my scores??? u know, i'm going to cape town in the coming weeks... then i'm getting married(!!) in late june... and i'm not supposed to know it but they're arranging a surprise party for my birthday on 30th..."

for a second i was thinking o your blood sugar... but look at him, he's so sweet and happy... i then saw him at the registration counter with his fiancee... =))
