physalis

i get to love this "fruit" these years... it's physalis... like figs... it's is usually used as decoration in cakes and desserts... i like it partly because it looks very much like squirrel's food... and it's yummy!!! happened to see a box of it in the supermarket... it's actually not as nice to take it alone then taken with desserts...

protest

nice and sunny

was meant to post reviews about a few restaurants i recently visited... but they're put aside a while ago and it's difficult for me to recall anything about dinners...

went to the protest for the first time in my life today... there're were plenty of us... think it was really a success... i was indeed moved by the crowd of doctors there... actually we all share the same thinking... the same despair as frontline doctors in the public hospitals... the same absence of respect... the more i listen, the more i feel we're underprivileged... u know we had lots of brains there... apparently the authority thought we're silly enough and can easily be cheated... it's not like me to go to protests... most doctors work and work and are too busy and tired to say a word... we didn't express our disappointment doesn't mean things can be continued the sick way it is... no offence but i seriously i cannot tolerate my pay being less than an accountant or a lawyer if it is not higher...

recovering from thunderstorm

this is my last week in respiratory team... i'm happy and i'm sad about it... happy becoz workload can be quite heavy here and i'm facing the big boss every day which makes life quite stressful... also it's always happy when u're about to leave a bulk of mess to whoever is picking it... my bulk includes those recurrent pneumothoraxes with persistent airleak and empyema with swinging fever despite meropenem... sad becoz i dun have to see urgent cases in resp and there's probably a greater mess left for me somewhere in the general ward...

we went to le mieux bistro to celebrate steve's birthday... olive oil was the best i've ever had... appetizer was near perfect... but soup and main courses were a bit too salty... anyway it's a place worth going... though twice at most...

the weekend was fab... friday was spent with all my dearest buddies... dinner with my high school sisters in another restaurant-up-stairs... we all brought our other halves and made a big crowd... felt very much like a family... enjoyed the night so much that i drank a bit, i rarely do... ended up having a whale of a time plus this scratchy rash all over my body...

i promised my colleague this heading of my coming post...

i dunno why i received so many newly diagnosed HIV notices these days... like half of the open TB cases turned out having HIV as well... that's why i put up this message... please... use a condom... right i'm a very conservative person... it's not quite okay with me for being promiscuous... i do understand some treat sex rather casually... well that's perfectly fine... have fun, by all means... but please consider using a condom... don't spread it around... i bet this is something no one ever thought of getting oneself... and nah... this is extremely scary... and stressful... for both patient and their family... although our society is getting more and more open-minded... still these patient's don't get the sympathy which even lung cancer smokers do...
