it's been some days since u left us
i didn't live through a day without thinking of you
those days when i was small
when i grew up at your place & spent those school holidays with you
when we went to your favourite restaurants for your favourite meals
when you told me about the past, our family & your childhood
when we went on trips & i started calling you yungyung
when we had the sweet little chit-chats in the nursing home when u became weak
you know what, i actually remember your every single word

the memory was so vivid like it's yesterday
the memory was everywhere
it broke my heart when i was back in north point
the restaurants, the market, the footbridge, the shops
and of course the luvly place where i was brought up
every corner of the flat reminded me of my childhood days
i couldn't hold my tears when i flipped through the photo album

yungyung i couldn't be more grateful to you
i wouldn't be who i am without you
i wouldn't be the healthy me without you
i wouldn't have a good heart & correct values without you
i wouldn't be the happy & contented me without you
there's no word to express my gratitude
it's my greatest fortune to be your granddaughter
to be so close to you all these years

yungyung thank you for giving me the last lesson during your final days
the way our dear family doctor took care of you & comforted us
i'll remember this last lesson you gave me
the caring & supportive heart dr. tong had for us
which is probably the more important than any treatment doctors can offer their patients

yungyung i have always dreamt that you'd witness me married
to pour you the cup of tea and see your contented smile
this is not going to happen & i consider it the greatest pity of your departure
but i know our hearts are connected forever
your words & influence will be with me for the rest of my life

yungyung i'm glad that you had a peaceful departure
please don't worry about us
you taught us all so well we'll know what we should do
please take good care as you carry on to your next journey
where u'll meet grandpa & many others in heaven
