blueying's birthday...

today is blueying's 2nd birthday! i celebrated it by forcing my parents & momochung & rabbit & funfun to say happy birthday to blueying... my dearest koapig was the only person who congratulated blueying without being prompted (luv u!)... we went to lung king heen for dim sum... i've been looking for really nice dim sum & heard that the restaurant is good at it... i've tried to book a table for a few times and only today i succeeded... well we're not disappointed... but there's no surprise either... i'd be thrilled if it's exceedingly yummy provided the menu was a little expensive... (yup am a bit demanding...) as usual we're a little moliu & started this photography competition while having desserts... the same piece of pastry...

my family also went to "yau gwut hei" for hotpot dinner... anyway, blueying & all of us are very happy... yeh!

JJs

we celebrated our 8th anniversary (o wow!) earlier this week... we finally managed to draft a "restaurant-to-visit" list during our uk trip... we picked JJs in grand hyatt to celebrate the big day... it is, regrettably, a disappointment... i didn't take a single picture of the dinner because 1. we didn't actually bring a camera, 2. it's not my habit to take pictures of restaurants & food, 3. it's not worth it really...

the pre-dinner bits were all very nice... the catering department took my reservation & i got the window seat looking over the hotel lobby & lounge i requested... felt like a princess until the first bite... the decor is nice... perfect for a club... since JJs was formerly a club... but a bit odd for a thai restaurant & grill... i was welcomed by a strong smell of cigar once the elevator door opened... food was average & nothing but average... it's the ordinary spring rolls like dim sum in maxim's... ruthlyn's are definitely tastier... so was the soup... we had a curry whole lobster where the lobster was fresh but the sauce too stong and doesn't quite match with the lobster... rabbit's whisky is nothing particular either... only the mango + sticky rice made me smile... as good as ricepaper's... bill was of course expensive as expected for grand hyatt... i'd be happy to return if it's any thai restaurant in wan chai... sadly, it's not the grand hyatt standard we've expected...

if u really wish to set foot in the famous club... it's better to go for a drink... there's live music and the scene would be much more appropriate...
