the very trip to rome
shower
let me do rome today... we stayed in quite a nice a hotel in a good location, there's a playstation and an imac in our room... for the first time we played PS2 in hotel... we travelled around by metro and bus... metro is quite underdeveloped... we got to walk quite a lot... bus is okay if you know where you're... taxi was super expensive, cost us ~5 euros just to travel literally 3 blocks and the meter starts clicking once you booked a taxi... we booked a taxi and it's already 8+ euros when we jumped into it...
we visited only the must-gos... the vatican, the colleseum, the trevi fountain etc... enough for us... no wonder the rabbit always said once u've been to vatican u'll never like other cathedrals... it's very elegant... accomodates those huge sculptures and is still very spacious... if i put one of those in my bedroom i probably can't walk at all... because we're so lazy, we're able to do it at our own pace... we bought a timeout shortlist guide for rome... their restauant guide never fail us... since it's shortlist... there isn't much details on tourists' spots...
there's this restaurant recommended by the book... dinner at uno e bino was probably the best we had in italy... it's commented to be one of the best there... it's a small restaurant with simple decor... only two staff who know their job, they're really able to recommend and u feel welcomed... i took pictures for the meal... it's not quite what i usually do... anyways... located on the other side of the main train station... not quite near city centre... we attemped walking there, the walking was probably the worst bit of the night... we started with this tiny appetizer... tomato and bread paste in 2 consistency... there's the freshest scent of tomato in it... bread was well baked...
i had the triangular pastry (i.e. samosa) with pistachio paste filling...
rabbit had mackerel on goatcheese & cracker... and he was like ymmmm after the first bite and he's been mentioning it even when we're back in england...
i had a pigeon for main dish...
and he had this lamb cooked in four different styles...
if anything is to improve it's the wine... poor rabbit only ordered house wine by glass since i don't drink... ~40 euro per person plus 10+ euros for taxi home...

you look at them and you imagine how good it could be made and that's how it is... it's tender as it should be... tasty and fresh as it should be... warm as it should be...
we finished with pistachio gelato... i didn't know ice-cream could be fresh and chewy until i tasted it...if anything is to improve it's the wine... poor rabbit only ordered house wine by glass since i don't drink... ~40 euro per person plus 10+ euros for taxi home...
