birthday weekend
i used to celebrate my birthday month and birthday week... as i'm getting old, birthday celebrations are reduced this year...
very happy to meet high school buddies for dinner on saturday... thanks to others for remembering my bday and the sms...
prebirthday call day was kinda okay... workload kinda acceptable... not many demanding nurses in satelite wards... i managed to keep myself as cheerful as possible becoz it's my birthday and that i need to stay happy... sleep was bad... the air con in my bedroom broke down... my sleep was broken into 5 fragments... each less than 30 mins...
the birthday morning is again okay... complicated by an ill patient in overflow ward... i still managed to attend free-lunch meeting... it's all very acceptable until 5.30pm... when a patient with gross haematuria (ie. frank blood in urine) developed AROU (ie. acute retention of urine) in ward with a palpable bladder of 16 week... naturally i consulted the on-call urologist... remember i mentioned about the urology MO who needs a CNS reboot... yes, it's him again... and he is such an absolute b*stard that has totally pissed me off on my postcall birthday...
this person has a history of calling me through the operator and asked me not to consult him again... and then he told my friend who's an intern in his team about me always consulting him...
yesterday he agreed to see my patient and son of the b*tch asked me to escort my patient to his ward for an ultrasound!!! in this hospital, the respectable house officers only escort patients who're highly unstable... ie patient who may deteriorate at anytime, usually patients on ventilator or patients to ICU... i think this is a very reasonable arrangement... i don't see any reason why my patient is at risk of sudden deterioration... he didnt come to see the patient... and i don't see why he needed an ultrasound to confirm an enlarged bladder... the first cath was >1L... anyone who has seen a normal tummy can tell the patient has a distended bladder... all he needs to do is to come and insert a suprapubic cath... at most with a bladder scan... even the other MO in his ward was surprised to find me there... i told him why and he was like... "er... he really hates medical a lot..."
well a lot of surgical ppl hate medical ppl... but very few do more harm than good like him... took an HCA plus a nurse plus a doctor to bring a patient down... took the lift to go up and down... made the patient changed from bed to stretcher to bed... what if the patient's injured on transfer??? all becoz of his selfishness and ruthlessness...
thankyou very much dr. f, for wasting all the manpower and made my dad waited for an hour... congrats for spoiling my mood on my birthday and making me hate u...

happy belated b-day babe!
we should go out and get drunk.
if ya bored and have nothing to do, let me know, i'll get u your b-day dinner. i'm always around.
As for the MO Urologist, try not to waste energy and time on that asshole. You and I and everyone else knows that he will get stuck by lightening soon, and he will not get much respect and will not get very far with his career with an attitude like a piece of shit. So don't worry, he will regret it someday....someday..... :D
