merry christmas

long time no blog...

am very happy today because i'm going to have 90 consecutive work-free hours over the christmas weekend...

work has been bad... had loads and loads of patients... at one point i nearly had 30 patients and 3 ventilators under my care... it was suffocating... it's scary but perhaps it's true... this festive time is when the very ill comes in... or those not that ill suddenly become very ill... 4 out of 40 patients were sent to BLG3 in my ward last night... how scary...

i was the only MO who attended the department christmas dinner because i was the MC there... my partner was the outstanding young person AC... and the remaining doctors were SMOs and consultants... of course there're plenty of nurses and HCAs... a very scary and odd night... i hope they would really count that as one call as they promised...

am looking forward to the packed christmas schedule... am going boating with my buddies and a bunch of "funny people"... sounds very crazy... and a wedding banquet... and a family party... good to have many opprtunities to dress up... having a headache in thinking what to dress and what to buy... rabbit has no time for me this christmas... note that it's not me who had no time for him... it's him, like many other christmases in the past... i think i am very nice to him... i was only mildly upset once, to a boyfriend who volunteered to be on call on christmas day...

no more time for study... holy... the exam is approaching... and i have a feeling that i cannot make it... though i desperately want to pass... i still haven't figured how to handle study while one is working... my mind is flooded with thoughts about how to discharge my patients...

merry christmas love...
